Ingredients
1 Refrigerated pie crust
2 Apples peeled and chopped
¼ C. Granulated sugar
¼ tsp. Cinnamon
¼ tsp. Apple pie spice
½ C. Powdered sugar
1 tsp. Vanilla extract
1-2 Tbsp. Milk
Oil for frying
How To Make Fried Apple Pies
Place the apples, sugar, cinnamon, and apple pie spice in a skillet over medium heat. Cook until the apples have softened.
Roll the crust out on a lightly floured surface.
Use a 3-inch cookie cutter to cut 11-12 circles out of the dough.
Place a tiny amount of filling in the center of each circle. Wet the outside edge of each circle of dough with cold water, and fold the dough over the filling forming a crescent shape. Pinch the edges closed, and use the tines of a fork to crimp the edges if desired.
Heat the oil up in a deep-sided skillet over medium-high heat on the stove.
Fry the pies for 1-2 minutes on each side until golden brown.
Remove from the oil and set the pies on a paper towel-lined rack to cool.
Mix together the powdered sugar, vanilla, and milk until you get a smooth consistency.
Drizzle the icing over the warm pies and serve.
